I'm a big fan of anything paranormal and supernatural. I'm also a big fan of The Beatles. How are these two loves of mine related? Well, through this website called The Beatles Never Broke Up.
I discovered this site from famous Tumblr blogger sixpenceee, who posts about awesome sciencey and paranormal type stuff (and is also responsible for the recently popular "crave that mineral" meme). But back to The Beatles Never Broke Up.
This really gave me chills. The owner of the website claims to have come into possession of a Beatles album from another dimension. In this dimension, The Beatles, all four of them, are all alive and well and still writing and producing music. The album featured on the website is called "Everyday Chemistry" and can be downloaded, in its entirety, from the site for your listening enjoyment. I listened to the whole album and, I gotta say, it is a) really catchy and b) eerie in how much it sounds like The Beatles' harmonies and composition style. The first song sounds like a mash-up of past Beatles' songs we know and love, as well as some newer Paul McCartney stuff...but the rest of the album seems to be comprised of "original" tunes.
Now, this all could be quite an elaborate hoax...but, frankly, I've had and heard of too many strange experiences to really discount this man's tale.
How did this fellow come into possession of such a thing?
His story can be found on the website itself, but in brief, it goes something like this:
Upon driving home through the desert, a man stops on the side of the road to let his dog out for a bathroom break. The dog begins chasing a rabbit and as the man runs after it, he falls and hits his head and goes out like a light. When he comes to, he is in someone's home, which happens to be in the very spot he fell down on, though there was nothing around him for miles and miles. The home he is in belongs to another man, who claims to be a "parallel dimensions traveller". This traveller explains to our injured protagonist that there are numerous Earths in parallel dimensions and in his dimension, the government funded a traveling program and have been building a database of "safe" dimensions and worlds to travel to and that, for a pretty penny, one can purchase an inter-dimension traveling machine to explore with, such as he had (his house). The two guys began comparing and contrasting things about their respective Earths and discovered that they both enjoyed The Beatles, a band which existed in at least these two dimensions. The traveller had all these Beatles albums on cassette tape (apparently CDs never caught on in his version of Earth) because a girlfriend he had in high-school loved the band and had made the traveller copies of her officially-issued cassette albums for him to enjoy (aww, how sweet). That is why, in the photos, the alleged album is a) on a cassette tape and b) has hand-written song titles. Anyway, our protagonist (who had his head injury healed by the traveller) was so enthralled with these other Beatles albums that he asked for his own copies to be made but the traveller said that he was not allowed to take anything from this dimension to his own. But while the traveller was preoccupied, our protagonist snatched a cassette for himself before being sent on his merry way home, despite the warning.
Isn't that utterly fascinating?!
Personally, I am reminded of Stephen King's The Dark Tower series, how the main characters are constantly running through doors into other worlds, timelines, and dimensions.
